International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC)

FIDIC is the international federation of national associations of consulting engineers, whose members comply with FIDIC's code on professional status, independence and competence.

Founded in 1913 to promote common professional interests, FIDIC now comprises more than 60 national member associations from all parts of the globe and therefore represents most of the consulting engineers in the world.

FIDIC plays a significant role in the development and industrialization of less developed and developing countries, thus making an important contribution to world peace and prosperity. FIDIC actively encourages the development of the consulting engineering profession in these countries and much practical help is provided by the member associations of industrialized countries.
